Qualifications:

  • Graduation from high school or GED
  • Experience working with children of preschool age. Formal, post secondary training is preferred.

Duties and Tasks:

  • Be present from 7:30-4:00 each day.
  • Provide support to the Lead Teacher in the full implementation of the preschool curriculum
  • Assist Lead Teacher in preparing lesson plans based on each individual student’s learning capabilities
  • Assist Lead teacher in completion of daily/weekly student reports. 
  • Create instructional materials and aides to assist Lead Teacher during classroom instruction
  • Manage student behavior within the classroom to ensure a proper learning environment
  • Handle unruly students by employing tact and good sense
  • Maintain a well-organized and safe environment for students by ensuring that no hazardous materials are present in the class
  • Lead students for outdoor activities and monitor their movements closely to ensure that they are not harmed
  • Escort students to bathrooms and assist them with their meals during lunchtime
  • Assist students in clean up and change of clothing when bathroom accidents occur
  • Develop a positive relationship with each student and identify which student needs individualized attention
  • Assist students during classroom activities or assignments and constantly strive to improve their self-confidence
  • Assist Lead teacher with clean-up and set-up to prepare for the next day’s activities
  • Observe each child to assess skills and interests and provide feedback to the lead teacher
  • Evaluate students on a periodic basis to identify weak areas and attempt to work towards improving them
  • Step into Lead Teacher role when needed.
  • Attend all team meetings and faculty meetings.
  • Fulfill state and ACSI requirements for continuing education and certification.
Responsibilities 
  • Prepare 4 sections of Math:  specifically, Algebra 1 & Geometry 
  • Individualize instruction to help each student achieve
  • Collect and review work samples. Grade work, as necessary and appropriate
  • Assist with integrating math courses across the MS curriculum 
  • Serve as a grade level advisor in the MS House Advisory Program 
  • Establish and maintain a positive rapport with students and families 

Qualifications 
  • Minimum BA in Mathematics or a related field
  • 3 years teaching experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Passion for working with middle school students

Description
Veritas Christian Academy is looking for a part time choir instructor(Two times a week for two hours each day 1:30 - 3:30). The teacher will instruct and prepare middle school students for choir performances and competitions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and teach all Middle School choir classes
  • Instruct students in the technical and theoretical aspects of music, conduct rehearsals, and evaluate student performance
  • Coordinate on-campus and off-campus choir performances (e.g., seasonal concerts, and chapel services)
  • Support other performing arts programs
  • Attends staff development programs, curriculum development meetings, and other professional activities
  • Develops clear and concise instructional lesson plans and organizes class time to provide a balanced program of preparation, instruction, and rehearsal time.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in directing Choirs 
  • General knowledge of other music areas
  • Ability to develop rapport with students
  • Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills
