After School Care worker (part-time)
Description
Under the supervision of the Director of After School Care, the After School Care (ASC) staff are responsible for supervising, fostering intellectual and spiritual growth, and providing a safe, engaging, age‐appropriate, and fun environment for PreK through middle school-aged children during the school year and while students are in After School Care.
Hours are 3:00-6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (when school is in session).
Responsibilities
• Maintain a safe and organized educational environment
• Lead appropriate after-school events and activities
• Assist students with assignments and homework
• Interact with students to provide guidance, support, and motivation
• Ensure that all school rules, policies, and guidelines are adhered to
• Prepare learning equipment and materials

Requirements
Qualifications
• An ongoing commitment toward advancing the Christ-centered mission of Veritas Christian Academy is required.
• A High School diploma is required.
• Previous experience teaching and/or working with children is strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
• Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
• Work in a fast-paced environment dealing with various challenges and deadlines.
• Regularly use near and distance vision.
• Turn, bend, reach, and occasionally use a ladder.
• Work in a traditional climate-controlled office environment.
• May work in varied outside weather conditions during carpool, recess, special activities and events.
